Author Tricia Silverman earned her degrees in dietetics from SUNY and in business administration form Babson College and rounded out her training as a dietician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. As a registered dietician, fitness coach, and fitness instructor she has worked in management and education for school nutrition services and has been director of nutrition for Canyon Ranch Health Resort. She comes to this debut publication with excellent credentials.

One of the reasons this health guidance book is so successful is Tricia’s manner of communication – light hearted, realistic, conversational, and feasible! Her writing tone – ‘I was an overweight kid, and I didn’t quite understand why. In hindsight, weekend overeating, my family showing love through food, and lunches lacking good nutrition all contributed to my horizontal growth. Splitting my pants and being called the Goodyear Blimp was not fun. Not wanting to become an obese adult, I found the keys to winning at weight loss and wellness were eating more vegetable, moving my body, and other “investments” that I share in this book…’ 

With that most accessible and relatable quality of writing Tricia has composed a book that inspires us to implement healthy habits in our lifestyle that will have us feeling fabulous, managing our weight, and living a longer, healthier life. Her advice covers the basics of good nutrition (ways of eating, shopping, reducing sugar, smart dining out), fitness and weight management (ways to embrace healthy body movement and intelligent weight loss), healthy habits to adopt (eating for energy, supporting brain function through diet, the importance of sleep, how to manage stress, and more. At the end of each section she offers her invaluable ‘NuTricia’s Takeaways’ - memorizable tips to incorporate into a successful health investment plan.

Nutrition, fitness and weight management, and healthy lifestyle habits - solid and informed instruction from a friendly Pro, this is a health guidance book to own! Recommended.
