Book Review: 'Positively Beautiful - How to Recover Faster from Plastic Surgery Using Positive Thinking' by Daniela Gaulan

Positively Beautiful - How to Recover Faster from Plastic Sur... by Daniela Gaulan
‘Happiness...promises you the skies, makes the unthinkable our reality’

Author Daniela Gaulan offers a debut publication that could well alter the way we live the next days and years of our lives. She is an entrepreneur, Master of Biology, and lives and teaches epigenetics (Epigenetics is the study of heritable phenotype changes that do not involve alterations in the DNA sequence, the study of changes in organisms caused by modification of gene expression rather than alteration of the genetic code itself.) Her solid book leads us through the paths of understanding how the mind controls the body – and that includes all aspects of behavior, performance, happiness and success.

As with many of the significant minds Daniela’s road to her success in her sharing her thoughts began with a personal experience, a time she shares in a warmly friendly manner. In her Introductory comments Daniela states, ‘According to scientific research, there is a reason why our brain is in different states at different times. There are times when we feel happy, sad, angry, jealous or loved and don’t feel only one all the time. Science blames it on waves. When we are awake, beta waves dominate our mind. When we are sleeping, it is the theta waves that take over. When we are meditating, alpha waves are working their magic. Ever wondered why it is easier to listen and communicate with oneself wile meditating/ It is because our bodies are a lot more capable of listening to and accepting what our brain has to say while alpha waves rules – literally!’

She addresses the connection between visualization and imagination: ‘Imagination tells you what your dreams are while visualization lets you control your imagination and train your mind so that you are emotionally, mentally and physically on track to actually make those dreams come true.’

Yes, as the title suggests, this book’s message is applicable to the face – esthetically enhanced because of positive thinking. Her chapter on the power of acupressure in enhancing facial beauty is a gem. But it goes far beyond ‘plastic surgery recovery’ use and extends into all aspects of our lives – female and male. Highly Recommended.
