Book Review: 'Keeper of My Pleasure' by Kayelle Allen

Sometimes in life you have to take risks, lay your heart on the line and go for what you want – even if it scares the hell out of you.
Rai is a hot-shot lawyer in her thirties with an appetite for gorgeous young men who are willing to submit. So when Koo hires her to get him out of a fix after a car collision, she can’t resist asking him to dinner and then to play. What she doesn’t bargain on is her feelings growing and her need for Koo in more that just the bedroom becoming a desperate desire. Luckily Koo is also smitten, it just takes a while, and a few steamy scenes for them to both admit the depths of their needs and their dreams for the future.
Ms Allen creates nice characters (though I did find it hard at first to figure out the genders of the characters with their unfamiliar names but perhaps that’s just me) with enough depth to support a short story and certainly a lot of heat and desire between them. The plot flowed steadily which made Keeper of My Pleasure an easy and pleasant if not award-winningly complex read.
I enjoyed having a Domme as the main character for a change, and Koo certainly enjoyed everything his Mistress doled out. There is a big, seriously hot, and well-written BDSM scene that kept me turning the pages even though it was way past my bedtime.

In summary a spicy, short story with a boy-toy who ticks all the boxes and a female lead who’s not afraid to take what she wants. There’s whips and flogging and lots of erotic detail so if that’s your thing, go grab a copy of Keeper of My Pleasure today and find a quiet little corner to enjoy.
