Book Review: 'Impact' by Cassandra Carr

Can mixing business with pleasure ever work for all involved all will a hard-earned career come toppling down?
Professional bull rider Conner Raub is a Dom yet he keeps this a secret from his fans and fellow riders. He just can’t see how he’ll ever be able to mix the two entities of his life and be able to live the BDSM lifestyle he craves.  Jessica Talbot is new to BDSM scene but she’s curious and keen to learn more and she thinks that Conner might just be the man to show her the ropes! If only she can get his attention, get him to agree to the plan.
Ms Carr never fails to hit the spot and this well-written, angst and sex-fuelled plot is character driven and fully rounded. I liked how Impact ‘hit the ground running’ with the first scenes in the BDSM club. It was tense and very real and I adored initially meeting Conner through Jessica’s eyes.
The story is told from both points of view which does work well for the genre. I enjoyed the bull riding elements, it was just enough to set the scene and help me visualize Conner yet didn’t overtake the story. Jessica was a likeable heroine and I was rooting for her to get together with Conner, not just for some serious hotness but for a HEA. Hey, the girl deserved it big time!
You could do much worse than pick up Impact if you are looking for a BDSM story that’s professionally delivered and ticks all the boxes in and out of the bedroom. I’ll certainly be seeking out more of the Buckin’ Bull Riders series.
