Book Review: 'Forbidden' by Amanda Heartley

About author Amanda Heartley we know very little except as she shares, ‘she writes heartwarming erotic romance, featuring strong, sexy bad boys and feisty, sensual women. Her stories take you on an emotional ride of enduring love and steamy sex that always end with a happy-ever-after and her evocative characters will stay with you long after you've finished the book.’ And so it seems. To date she has published thirty four romance, even place some of them in bundled series, so the public obviously likes what she writes.

First we meet Darcy– and the language is raw to the point of not quoting the first page! Better to leave that to the synopsis – ‘I'm her teacher... but rules are made to be broken. (Lennon)- Eight years together and my high school sweetheart cheats on me. C'est la vie. I'm moving on, hopelessly defeated by love and relationships. Until I see her. (Darcy) .. a dark-haired beauty at a friend's wedding slipping a stolen beer bottle under her skirt. And when I catch her drinking it in my car, her attitude blows my mind ...and that's not all. Can't wait to see this little firecracker again. Though I didn't expect to see Darcy quite so soon. Just two days later, sitting in my class — on the first day of my first teaching job, no less. Not the best start to my career. I'm intrigued by her, although I know it's wrong. Her smile, the way she licks her lips at me when I look at her, the way she moves — they all make me rock for her. She's driving me wild. But as much as I want her, I have to push her out of my mind. This can't happen... we can't happen. There are rules against teachers and their students, and I've spent six long years working to get to this point. I won't throw it all away now. She's a divine temptation, but she's forbidden, nonetheless.’

Let the imagination stroll through this steamy little story and likely you’ll be back for more. Amanda knows how to satisfy the appetites of Chick Lit readers – and this is no exception! Grady Harp, April 18
