Book Review: 'One Great Goal' by Ursula Mentjes

California author/coach Ursula Mentjes is one powerful and influential lady, a Sales Expert and Certified Sales Coach specializing in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to help her clients reach their highest potential in their careers and businesses. Ursula attributes her success to setting stretch goals and empowering her employees to be the best that they could be. She has founded her own Professional Coaching and Consulting firm that specializes in working with entrepreneurs and sales professionals. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Communication and a Master of Science Degree in Psychology and is a Certified NLP Coach through the NLP Institute of California, and an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation.

Ursula’s inordinately user friendly manner of writing begins with the tone of her selfless introduction: ‘Clarity is the key to goal achievement, and yet it is so often missed, as people choose too many goals and become overwhelmed by the process. What if I told you that if you were to choose One Great Goal, it would simplify everything in your life and make your vision and purpose crystal clear? And what if that One Great Goal also tied to your Soul Purpose so that every door would easily open for you? The theory of One Great Goal has been developing for the past thirty-four years… my lifetime. It is a theory that has taken flight as I have seen it applied effectively over and over again.’ And therein lies the clarity of her message – find the goal that is in your heart and soul and focus on that avenue to reach success.

Surveying the chapters of her book offers a clue as to how she is presenting her concepts: The Theory of One Great Goal, Discover Your SOUL and SOLE Purpose, Let Your Soul Purpose Lead You, The Power of One, Choosing One Great Goal for Yourself, The Importance of Thoughts and Belief, Intentional and Inspired Action, Are You Ready?, What Gets in the Way?, Identify and Overcome Anything, Staying in the Flow, and Make a Life.

The energy and sense of self confidence she infuses in her readers is unique and creates one of the strongest self-help books available. Highly recommended. Grady Harp, December 15
