Book Review: 'Letter to Santa' by Kerry McQuaide

Kerry McQuaide continues her Adventure of Midge and Moo with an absolute charmer of a Holiday book, confirming the concept that once you begin reading her books (which she illustrates herself) you’ll be waiting for the next one. Having read Book 1 and now reading Book 5 – her newest – gives the urge to read the entire set of the adventures of the little girl Midge and her teddy Bear Moo.

The joy of this book is the tradition of writing letters to Santa – hopefully on paper to mail to the North Pole instead of an email, as is the new direction for children today! The letters are short and sweet, requesting all manner of imaginative gifts from castles to dragons to unicorns to robots that clean up toy messes – and of course the mention of treats for Santa as reward for fulfilling the requests.

It is fun, funny, sweet, entertaining and offers more than a few giggles that children love. This is a perfect pre-Christmas holiday ‘get-in-the-mood’ gift. Another winner for Kerry McQuaide. Grady Harp, December 15
