Book Review: 'Wrecked' by Cat Johnson

Cat Johnson is a top 10 New York Times bestseller and has been the recipient of a starred Publishers Weekly review and is the author of the USA Today bestselling Hot SEALs series. Known for her unique and creative marketing and research practices, Cat has sponsored bull riding cowboys, promoted romance using bologna and owns a collection of cowboy boots and camouflage for book signings. A fair number of her research consultants wear combat or cowboy boots for a living. Since 2006, Cat has put approximately one million digital and print stories in readers' hands!

That explains some of the sizzle of this cowboy-enhanced story. The 51-year-old CeCe Cole is a recently divorced wild billionaire redhead who is secure in things business wise but more hesitant in interpersonal relationships – until she meets the hunky 40-year-old snarky womanizer rodeo circuit bullfighter Wade Long. Wade, divorced also and with a daughter to support, concentrates on one-night stands until he encounters CeCe. Then it is steam hot Alpha male romance in the bedroom that proves that we never lose our need for passion – or love.

Or as Cat’s synopsis puts it, ‘Professional cowboy and alpha to the tenth power, Wade Long is intent on showing billionaire CeCe Cole who's boss in and out of the bedroom. It's all good until he realizes he wants her for the long haul, not just the short go. But how can a working class Texas cowboy traveling the pro bull riding circuit and a spoiled rich California corporate mogul make it work?’

Terrific romance with a biting dialogue that makes this story soar. Grady Harp August 16
