Book Review: 'Love Potion #9' by Ciara Knight

Author/editor Nancy Segovia, a retired English Professor with a Master of Liberal Studies in Creative Writing from Denver University and a Master’s in Religion from Northwest Nazarene University, has been a professional writer for over 25 years. She is the award winning author of the middle grade/YA fantasy Dragon Tears and the non-fiction work Shine. She has achieved publishing success in the fields of adult fiction, children’s literature, newspaper journalism, feature magazine articles, and poetry.

Having sustained personal losses (family and friends) she retired from teaching to devote her energies to creating. In that vein she has assembled a collection of paranormal romances that includes short stories, novellas and complete novels from USA Today best selling authors and several RomCon Winners of the Best Paranormal Romance Award.

15 authors are represented in this collection and their stories, novellas and novels present a broad spectrum of variations on the theme of love – from humorous to mysterious to steamy erotica and more. The authors in this anthology are Ciara Knight, Nancy Segovia herself, Athena Grayson, Danielle DeVor, Denna Holm, Diane J. Reed, Jody A. Kessler, Melissa Robitille, Phil Hore, Rebecca Taylor, Rosalie Redd, Shawna Romkey, Tmonique Stephens, Yelena Casale and Tina Moss. There isn’t a weak link in the group! ‘A mermaid with a werewolf baby who was separated from her love… A love affair between a Russian eagle owl and a Siamese cat… A werewolf who falls in love with a ghost… Magical princesses and knights who travel through time to escape the horrors of their world… A retelling of Sleeping Beauty with vampires, magic, and terror… shamanic magic and astral travel…’

Expect the unexpected – from fallen angels to werewolves to many kinds of paranormal creatures beautifully devised and placed in this collection in a sensitive reading order. Many hours of skillful, exciting, erotic tales to titillate and please those secret places in your psyche. Grady Harp, September 16
