Book Review: 'Imagination Bigger Together' by Casey Rislov

Casey Rislov earned her Master’s in Elementary Education from Montana State University and is endorsed in early childhood and special needs. She obviously has a fine outlook on life and appreciates the importance of family and friends. She is a young blond beauty from Wyoming and the flavor of her outlook on life flows through the rhythm of her spare but touching words. In this book she is accompanied by the very gifted illustrator Stephen Adams who makes Casey's family of animals as anthropomorphic as possible without stepping over the line of `cute'. Her successful books include LOVE IS FOREVER, COME IN OPEN THE DOORS TO YOU, TIME TOGETHER WTIME WELL SPENT and now IMAGINATION BIGGER TOGETHER.

The pages are filled with the fun families and friends can enjoy together – and if there is a theme that sails here it is how much more fun life can be if we use our imagination, especially if shared with friends. The story is beautifully illustrated by Stephen Adams who manages to magnify Casey’s tale of four friends – a moose, two bears and a bluebird - as they set off to savor a boat ride, a hot air balloon ride, a treasure hunt with many exciting discoveries – and the joy is that the journey is in their own backyard! The key? Creativity and imagination and all that embellishes fine memories.

Casey Rislov relates her genuinely warm ideas in a rhythmic language that makes reading the book as much fun as playing games together. It is a winner! Grady Harp, September 17
