Book Review: 'Hung' by J.L. Beck

Wisconsin author J.L. Beck has penned over thirty different novels, and novellas - steamy romance with alpha males, strong heroines, and instalove that always comes served with a happily ever after.

Some authors create a storyline before slipping into the erotica. Such is not the case with this book HUNG – aptly named, by the way, when we meet the main characters…. Instead, JL starts her novel with an intense, very steamy, erotic scene that she manages to replicate throughout this book.

Her synopsis pulls it together – ‘Wanna know what's worse than being in love with your step-brother? Having his baby... There's an alpha male that want's [sic] to make me his forever, theres [sic] only one problem: he's my step-brother and us being together puts our entire family at risk. None of that matters though because I'm pregnant with his baby now, and the real kicker he doesn't know it yet. Zane and I's [sic] relationship is so much more than forbidden. When all the secrets come out, will we be left standing together, or ripped apart by our families? Find out today if their love will survive...’

If pure erotica is the core of you search for a quick read, look no further. The writing may not be sophisticated but it ‘gets the job done’ – very well! Grady Harp, April 17
